Fred Kelemen’ „FALLEN“

November 14, Media Centre:
A man of many facets, Fred Kelemen – a director, producer, cinematographer, screenplay writer briefed the media persons about his film “Fallen” at Media Centre in a press conference.
An iconoclastic German film personality Fred Kelemen experimented his recent film “Fallen” screening at 11th Kolkata Film Festival in black and white. Explaining his choice of this obsolete medium he commented ,”Form is a question of contend, an expression of attitude” and without colours the expression is partly left to the audiences to be imagined and felt just like in drawing in comparison to painting. He compared his film with drawing where “with few lines a full form can be created unlike in a painting where colours thwarts to thrive the imagination of the audience.”
“Fallen” is a film of conscience where the director ventures deep into the psyche of the Latvian character. It raises the basic universal und human question of knowing one’s own conscience and act accordingly.
Finance for films has been a haunting question for all film directors but Kelemen does not bother about it as he takes film as an art and not an industry. He also informed about the finance scenario of the German films.
The director rectified the media persons about a wrong information relating to recruitment of an Indian music composer in his film. There is no music composer for his recently screening film. Somehow it got in the internet.
“Fallen” was well appreciated by the audiences in the Festival and it was itself a reward for the German film-maker.
